《新编科技大博览（A卷）：日新月异的信息科学》是《新编科技大博览》系列之一：现代社会的飞速发展很大程度上得益于科技的进步，“科技是第一生产力”已日益成为人们的共识。但是，由于现代科学的分工越来越细，众多的学科令人目不暇接。对于处于学习阶段的广大青少年而言，难免有“乱花渐欲迷人眼”的困扰。有鉴于此，我们组织了数十名在高等院校、教育科研机构的工作、有着丰富的青少年教育的专家学者，编选了这套《新编科技大博览》。它的特点是：1针对性强。针对青少年的实际需要，选取的均是青少年感兴趣又并未深入了解的信息。2编排科学。在学科类别的设置上，内容的选择安排上，都有相当的科学性。3难易适中。既不过于艰深，也不流于肤浅。由于全面内容涵量巨大，我们将其拆为A、B两卷。A卷包括：形形色色的现代武器，精彩绚丽的宇宙时空、日新月异的信息科学、握手太空的航天科技、空越时空的现代交通、蓬勃发展的现代农业、日益重要的环境科学、抗衡衰亡的现代医学、解读自身的人体科学、走向未来的现代工业，共十卷。B卷包括：玄奥神秘的数学王国、透析万物的物理时空、奇异有趣的动物世界、广袤绮丽的地理、生机百态的植物世界、扑朔迷离的化演出宫殿、蔚蓝旖旎的海洋、探索神秘的科学未知，共八卷。《新编科技大博览（A卷）：日新月异的信息科学》编撰得到了众多学科专家、学者的高度重视和具体指导。他们的辛劳从书稿的框架结构到内容选择，从知识主题的阐述到分门别类的归集，从编写中的问题争议到书稿最后的审议等全部过程，从而使《新编科技大博览（A卷）：日新月异的信息科学》具有很高的权威性、知识性和普及性。
