Octubre desconoce de dónde viene su nombre; nosotros tampoco lo sabremos. Recuerda aquel primer amor al que besó debajo de las faldas de una menina del Prado. Se pregunta dónde estará ahora, mientras bucea bajo las aguas de la laguna Estigia de Patinir. Hasta que los dos puedan llegar a amarse, planearán sombras de pájaros decolorados, surgirán lágrimas de témpera de unos ojos cosidos, se tendrá que sujetar el cielo con vigas; Europa se secará; tragará la tierra a un hombre moribundo, habrá quien atraviese corriendo un continente sin detenerse y hasta quien se meta en el sueño de otra persona a través de una bombilla. Esta es la historia de amor de Emilio y Octubre, narrada desde el nacimiento de uno hasta la muerte del otro, en un futuro cercano en el que nos introduciremos en las pinturas tridimensionalizadas de los museos y viajaremos por toda Europa.
