La literatura, como otros discursos, sale al paso de la contingencia que mide al ser humano en su vulnerabilidad. Pero a diferencia de esos otros discursos –el de la ideología, el de la reflexión, el de la trascendencia– no se resiste a la contingencia mediante construcciones de sentido, sino que la acepta como premisa y sale a su encuentro en espera de la maravilla que en ella intuye. Enseña la literatura a expandir la experiencia de la vida en el campo de lo inesperado y hasta de lo imposible. Sobre estos asuntos versan los estudios comprendidos en este volumen, cuyos autores alternan, en mayor o menor medida, la docencia universitaria con la creación artística.
