El libro está dividido en cuatro partes que se corresponden con los cuatrotipos de análisis que efectúan: 1) el análisis del papel de la información enla sanidad; 2) la valoración de la evolución y gestión de los sistemas de información sanitarios (SIS); 3) la contribución de las tecnologías de la información (T) a los retos que tiene planteados el sistema de servicios de salud y alos cambios y reformas que se precisan; y 4) los requisitos para que tales posibles contribuciones sean efectivas. El libro se cierra con un capítulo de conclusiones y síntesis.
