La Sociedad Española de historia de la Construcción lleva organizando Congresos desde el año 1996, con una periodicidad de dos a tres años. Los Congresos han servido para canalizar una buena parte de las investigaciones sobre las construcciones históricas en España. También se organizó en 2003, en Madrid, el Primer Congreso Internacional de la disciplina, con participación de las más destacadas figuras internacionales. En su conjunto, la colección de Actas publicada por el Instituto Juan de Herrera suponen una referencia indispensable para los estudiosos e interesados en la Historia de la Construcción.
