La lectura de libros, revistas o periódicos no iba a ser una excepción: las publicaciones digitales son otra experiencia surgida en internet que ha cambiado la forma de distribución y consumo de contenidos respecto a los formatos impresos, e incluso han desarrollado un lenguaje propio que las diferencia de las publicaciones impresas. Este libro, que bien pudiera considerarse una radiografía de las publicaciones digitales desde su aparición en 1994 hasta ahora y su integración en los nuevos soportes, trata de ver de qué manera la aparición de las aplicaciones digitales ha significado o no una disrupción en los planteamientos de la empresa editorial tradicional y hasta qué punto ha modificado su modus operandi.
