Publicar con calidad editorial – Cuatro pilares de la producción de un libro intenta enumerar y describir en detalle esas pautas para producir cualquier publicación con la mayor calidad posible. Estos procedimientos se pueden dividir en dos grandes bloques y cada uno de ellos comprende dos procesos. El primero es la parte creativa del contenido, que abarca la edición del texto y los elementos gráficos, conocida como edición de mesa o editing, y las correcciones: de estilo, de ortotipografía y de pruebas. La segunda es la parte creativa de la forma, integrada por el diseño gráfico y la maquetación o composición, que se aúnan en el diseño editorial.
