Jullie maken er een puinhoop van, een bende! roept vader Jan. Wat is een bende, oma? vraagt de kleine Nina. Een boevenclub, antwoordt oma. Gaaf. Dan zijn wij de bende van De Korenwolf, zegt Joost. De Korenwolf is het hotel van Ninas ouders, haar grote zus Eefie, broer Joost en puber Pepijn. Soms is het fijn om in een hotel te wonen. Maar soms is het niet zo leuk, want je ouders hebben vaak geen tijd voor je. Dan moet je jezelf maar zien te vermaken. En daar is de bende érg goed in Eefie en kleine Nina zijn door het dolle heen: volgens een roddelblad is de bekende popster Izabel de Groot ondergedoken in De Korenwolf. Ze zou zwaar in de put zitten. De ouders van Eefie en Nina zeggen dat het allemaal grote onzin is. Toch gaan Eefie, Nina en Joost op onderzoek uit. Gek genoeg bemoeit grote broer Pepijn zich er helemaal niet mee en dát terwijl zijn kamer vol posters van Izabel hangt. Maar de kinderen vergeten Izabel bijna als ze horen dat oma weggaat uit het hotel omdat ze het traplopen te lastig vindt worden. Ze verzinnen van alles om haar te laten blijven en uiteindelijk bedenkt de bende een oplossing
