Han har översatt bland andra Nabokov och Hölderlin till svenska, han har skrivit kritik i bland annat Expressen och medverkat med essäer i en rad tidskrifter. Nu har Aris Fioretos samlat ihop den sidan av sitt författarskap och vävt ihop dessa texter med egna dikter och en självbiografisk berättelse om uppväxten i Skåne med en grekisk far och en österrikisk mor. Det är en originell och lekfull samling texter, som visar på både djup beläsenhet och en självständig hållning till det lästa. Aris Fioretos, f. 1960 i Göteborg, har erhållit pris och utmärkelser både i Sverige och utomlands, senast Lydia och Herman Erikssons donationsstipendium av Svenska Akademien 2003. Senast utgav han romanen Sanningen om Sascha Knisch (2002).
