Kata ?shalat? juga memiliki akar kata yang sama dan memiliki hubungan makna dengan kata ?shilah?, yang bermakna ?hubungan?. (Contohnya, ?shilah alrahim? bermakna ?silaturahmi? atau ?hubungan kasih-sayang?.) Dalam kaitannya dengan kata ?shilah? ini, shalat bermakna medium hubungan manusia dengan Allah Swt.ÿ Dalam sebuah hadis disebutkan bahwa ?shalat adalah mi?rj-nya orang-orang beriman?. Dengan kata lain, sebagaimana Rasulullah bertemu dengan Allah Swt. ketika ber-mi?rj, orang beriman (dapat) bertemu dengan-Nya melalui shalat. [Mizan, Gratis, Free, Islam, Indonesia]
