《特殊幼兒教育導論》一書，為提供學前教保人員建立特殊教育知能而撰寫。其主要內容分述於以下四篇：第一篇、特殊幼兒教育的基礎概念與實施依據（第一、二章），介紹特殊幼兒教育的理論基礎與相關法規；第二篇、特殊幼兒的鑑別與教保服務的重點（第三、四、五、六、七、八、和九章），從學前教育階段常見需求分類介紹；第三篇、融合班級特殊需求幼兒的個別差異與需求滿足（第十、十一、和十二章），說明融合教育的理念以及課程與教學；以及第四篇、轉銜計畫與正向支持系統之建立（第十三、十四章），介紹轉銜、正向行為管理、與支持系統之建立；本書第十五章，以學前特殊教育的現在與未來展望為全書總結。 　　本書依循我國幼兒教育歷史演進脈絡與法規依據，並以國內幼兒園情境及學前教保人員之專業需求而撰寫。此外，本書亦納入我國早期療育的現況與實務、個別化教育精神與相關文件（IEP/IFSP）、以及融合教育的實務，適合職前與在職之各階段學前教育相關人員使用。
