  這場以占領國會議場開啟的太陽花運動,毫無疑問地,除了創造台灣民主及社會運動歷史之外,也將網路社運與媒體創新再推向高峰!長達24天的太陽花運動,有各式新媒體平台關注服貿議題、國會運作、政府資訊透明、社會運動新聞報導等等,扮演資訊傳遞、議題辯論、動員參與等功能,在短時間內發揮高度影響力。而有更多的參與者透過科技網絡連結、分享、支持、採取行動,去中心化、自主地參與,卻也共同成就了這場運動。

  新媒體實踐作為太陽花運動的重要特色,值得記錄、需要紀錄!這就是本書寫作的角度與初衷。一年以來,坊間已經有不少反服貿運動參與者的紀錄以及對於這場運動的分析,但我們發現還欠缺從新媒體實踐的角度的深度書寫。因此台大新聞所結合課程及相關師資,推動專書報導計畫,帶領學生進行反服貿運動中新媒體實踐個案及參與者的報導,並邀請教師針對此議題進行綜觀的分析,完成了十萬餘字的寫作計畫,希望彌補這塊重要的歷史缺口,留下記錄。

  本書選取代表性的個案做為報導的主軸,並搭配每個新媒體實踐中的參與者的生命歷程。本書以網路社運的角度書寫與記錄,但是並不迷信科技決定論,毋寧更著重於人與科技的互動,耙梳人類如何使用科技促成個人及社會的改變。這些個案與人物,並不代表太陽花運動中所有新媒體及其參與者的面貌,也不具備壟斷性詮釋的地位。眾志成城,造就一場歷史性運動,而本書中的故事,將有助於讀者理解新媒體實踐如何在社會運動中發揮資訊傳遞、民主溝通與動員能力,或許也能讓我們在這些年輕人的故事中找到個人生命經驗的對照與反思。

  除了專題報導的書寫主體外,本書也邀請學者專文分析太陽花運動與新媒體的關係。學者的專文,為這場公民參與及新媒體實踐提供具有理論意義、社會脈絡與歷史縱深的分析。

  謹以此書獻給參與這場運動、追求美好社會與民主價值的每一個人。
