El presente volumen reúne mis trabajos de casi dos décadas sobre la industria de la construcción surgidos de las reflexiones y sistematizaciones por la preocupación creciente entre sus formas de organización y sus logros de productividad y calidad y por la persistente demanda hacia este sector de la generación de empleo. Muchas veces trabajé a partir de datos reconstruidos dificultosamente en trabajos de campo en obras en construcción, porque en nuestro país son inexistentes y esto me demostró la validez de sistematizarlos en un volumen. Si bien se realizaron algunos retoques por razones de edición, la mayoría de los capítulos responden a ponencias, presentaciones, conferencias o capítulos de libros ya editados en otras obras, pero que al estar diseminados en diferentes publicaciones y no presentar una continuidad de lectura, mantenían muy fragmentada mi propia reflexión más general sobre el sector, sobre su importancia en la economía y sobre las posibilidades de su proyección en un futuro próximo[...]
