Description

I would wager my soul that no king in the history of the world ever wore a crown like Jesus. They made their crowns from the most precious materials the earth offered; molded in gold and silver, decorated with jewels and dazzling stones. Jesus wore a crown of thorns; a thicket of branches fashioned into a ring, adorned with wooden daggers. When He wore this crown, it pierced His skull causing a torrent of blood to flow down His head and into His eyes. I don't think any king or queen would ever choose such a crown to convey their nobility. But for the true King over all of existence, the only crown the bible says God ever wore before Revelations, was this one. God's crown did not symbolize royalty. It symbolized meekness and all-powerful servility. - One ThingThe tenants of the Christian faith are that God created the world and then placed Adam and Eve in a garden of paradise. He told them not to eat of a tree. They disobeyed, ate from the tree, and damned the entire human race. Since then, every human being exists as a sinner and destined to burn for eternity in a lake of fire. To prevent this fate, God sends His Son to die a torturous death by crucifixion. Christianity purports that anyone who believes in this narrative, will find salvation from hell and a ticket to eternal life in heaven. This is the essence of the gospel, which means good news. However, the gospel does not seem like good news at all. On the surface, it looks like a ridiculous religion. It has been ridiculed as so. But what if God created the world this way because it was, by far, the most brilliant way to do it? What if God subjected all humanity to their sinful nature because it was truly the only way to give us everything that we wanted? What if He sent His Son to die because it unveiled a love story beyond comprehension? The goal of Broken Hallelujahs is to explore these questions. Why didn't God stop Adam and Eve from disobeying? Why did God send His Son to die? Why did it have to be on a cross? Why did Jesus die naked? What does His resurrection mean? Broken Hallelujahs delves into the suffering, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus Christ in the attempt to reveal how God is screaming how in love He is with His children and why my reciprocation has been to fall in love with Him, myself.
