Photochemistry: molecules and systems provides an accessible overview of the field of photochemistry from a physical perspective. This book includes a discussion of the fundamental aspects on which photochemistry is based, along with specialist chapters dealing with specific techniques or systems. Rather than attempting to provide an in-depth treatment in these latter chapters, the emphasis is on providing an overview of the field with sufficient detail that the reader can move on to more specialist texts on the subject. To this end, each chapter closes with a contemporary bibliography to guide the more advanced readership. Photochemistry: molecules and systems is aimed to fill a gap in the market, between very general photochemical texts (many of which are in fact out of print) and specialist texts which are largely inaccessible to the advanced undergraduate or early stage postgraduate student. The purpose is to provide a thorough grounding in the field to those studying it for the first time, and also to provide a reference for more experienced researchers who may be looking to employ a new technique or system.
This new edition introduces more problem-solving strategies and new conceptual and challenge problems. Also, each Chapter Review has been enhanced with Learning Goals to reinforce the mastery of concepts for students.
This laboratory manual contains 42 experiments for the standard sequence of topics in general, organic, and biological chemistry.
The book guides students through basic chemistry problem solving with engaging visuals and a focus on developing the math skills necessary to be successful in the course.
