De plus en plus de gens, notamment des travailleurs vieillissants, souhaitent par ailleurs organiser différemment leur temps de travail et l'ensemble de leurs activités sociales et professionnelles, suscitant un requestionnement de l'ensemble de l'organisation des temps sociaux. Cet ouvrage nous invite à une réflexion globale sur le temps de travail, les temps sociaux, l'articulation entre l'emploi et la famille, la division sexuelle du travail entre les hommes et les femmes, l'aménagement du temps tout au long de la vie. L'auteure est une spécialiste de la question de l'articulation emploi-famille, du temps de, du temps de travail et des temps sociaux et elle présente ici à la fois des résultats de recherches récentes, des analyses des politiques et tendances observées dans d'autres pays et des réflexions sur l'avenir de nos sociétés du point de vue temporel.
